This summer at The Community Church, we’re stepping into The Gospel of Being Human, a journey through Romans inspired by the highly recommended book of the same title featured by Christianity Today.
Romans tells the truth about humanity in a way that is honest enough to humble us and hopeful enough to heal us. So don’t just let summer drift by. Come on Sundays. Read Romans with us. Grab the journal. Join the conversation.
This week, Pastor Mike takes a closer look at one of the most surprising images in Romans 11: the olive tree. Why does Paul describe grafting a wild branch into a cultivated tree—a process that seems backwards to anyone familiar with farming? Discover how this unexpected metaphor reveals the radical grace of God's kingdom, where outsiders are welcomed into His family and everyone is called to make room for others. Whether you're new to faith or have been following Jesus for years, this episode is a powerful reminder that we all share the same roots in God's story.

This week's Midweek Mini Podcast picks up where Sunday's message left off, exploring the difference between conviction and condemnation in light of Romans 7–8. Through the story of King David and the hope of Psalm 51, Pastor Mike reflects on how God's grace meets us in our failures—not to shame us, but to heal us. If you've ever wrestled with your own inner critic, this conversation offers a timely reminder that in Christ there is no condemnation, only the invitation to step into the light and experience God's mercy.

In this week's Midweek Mini Podcast, Pastor Mike reflects on Romans 4 and 5 and explores one of the biggest questions many of us wrestle with: Am I really worthy of God's love and grace? Building on Sunday's message, he unpacks how our relationship with God isn't based on earning His approval or getting our lives together first, but on trusting in the grace made available through Jesus. Through the example of Abraham and Paul's powerful words in Romans, we're reminded that while sin is real, it isn't the end of the story—God's grace is greater. Join us as we consider what it means to live from a place of peace with God and embrace the truth that Christ came for us while we were still broken, offering hope, healing, and a new way forward.
